The studies for obtaining the national diploma of pharmacist last  five years. They comprise a first cycle and a second cycle.

FIRST CYCLE
 With a duration of two years, the first cycle aims at permitting to the students to acquire the basic knowledge in the pharmaceutical field (chemistry, botanic, vegetal physiology…). The knowledge should include also the main apparatus of the human organs and their functioning.

SECOND CYCLE
 It lasts three years. The teaching is destined to allow the student to master the biologic, pharmacologic, clinic, juridical and managerial competences necessary for the practice of the pharmacist's profession.

During the two cycles, trainings are foreseen in pharmacy, hospital pharmacy or in laboratories of clinic biology.

SPECIALITY
 In this sector, there are two specific specialities : biological analysis, hospital pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry.  The access modalities (competitive examinations) and the duration of the studies are the same than those of medicine and dental medicine.
