The B.A degree (Maîtrise) in Arabic language and literature differs somehow from the model described above, in the sense that the teaching of the national language doesn't need a return to the basic linguistic rules as is the case for the B.A degree (Maîtrise) in other languages and literatures. However, the objectives of the teaching remain the same : to give the students the necessary tools allowing them to think, argue and express themselves clearly. The B.A degree (Maîtrise) in Arabic language and literature doesn't aim to cover systematically fourteen centuries of Arab-Muslim presence in a geographic area that ranges from Morocco to China. It rather aims to give the students the tools and methods allowing them to tackle, later, any subject they like. This B.A is a subtle mixture of classicism rooted in the past and modernity open on the future. First cycle fields of the studies : Classical literature; modern literature; syntax; morphology and rhetoric; phonetic; versification; semantic; modern civilization; French; English; translation (into Arabic); methodology; human rights; computing. Professional prospects : It has to be said that teaching is no more the main professional prospect for the B.A degree in Arabic. However, the holders of such a diploma are adequately equipped for the job market, provided a complementary training, in many other sectors such as journalism, administration, advertisement are provided. Juridical text : The B.A degree in Arabic is regulated by the Ministerial order issued on 22 of August, 1994 (Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic N° 70, September 9, 1994). Institutions :
