DEFINITION
This discipline aims at preparing the managerial staff to be in charge of children activities.

ADMISSION
The access to the first year of the first cycle can be made through one of the two following modes :

a) The academic orientation system (all types of baccalaureates, but essentially  "Letters" baccalaureate). In addition of the score, access to this discipline is conditioned by the success in an aptitude test.

b) The competitive reorientation examination which is open to the students who have obtained their baccalaureate in the two years preceding the examination's date. It comprises the following tests :

• Interview with a jury;

• sports' test;
• medical test.

REQUIRED SKILLS
General culture, easiness in oral, written and corporal expression, good physical condition, sensitivity for literature, music and arts, interest for games...

LENGTH OF STUDIES

• The studies last two years at the end of which a DEUPC "Children Educator" is delivered.

• The regular presence at all the teachings is compulsory.

EXAM REQUIREMENTS
The studies are submitted to the continuous control and to half-yearly examinations.

The examinations at the end of the academic year are organized in two sessions : main session and control session.

Child's psychology, sociology, pedagogy, literature for children, law and management, child's health, information sciences.

Fine arts, plastic arts, music and song, dramatic art, corporal expression, computer science, audio-visual.

Animation plans, cultural activities.

A three-week training period the first year and one month the second year.

ACQUIRED COMPETENCIES
The diploma is based on the following techniques and knowledge :

• Children's educative and social animation techniques;

• Artistic animation techniques (music, theater, plastic art, corporal expression...);
• Communication, information and computer science technology guided toward the child;
• Law and management notions;
• General culture and languages.
