and juridical basis
The equivalence is the assimilation of
diplomas and titles delivred by an educative system of a foreign country
to the diplomas and titles delivered by the tunisian educative system on
the basis of a certain number of conditions such as those relating to
the registration, the number of studying years, the content of the
programs and the procedures of assessment of the knowledge.
The equivalence regime in Tunisia is organized by regulation texts the
object of which consists, notably, in fixing the structures habilitated
to deliver the equivalence as well as the criterias that constitute the
ground of delivering the equivalence of diplomas and titles. It is to be
precised that the different texts organizing the higher education in
terms of aims and structures or in terms of studies and examinations
regime, foresee the necessity of equivalence for foreign diplomas. This
necessity constitutes the legal ground of the equivalence demand.
The equivalence is organized by these main texts :
- The
decree
n°96-519 of March 25 th, 1996, amending the regulation
relating to the equivalence of diplomas and titles.
(See the French version)
- The
order of August 15th, 1996, fixing the criterias on the
basis of which the equivalence is delivered to the diplomas and
titles. (See the French version)
-
The order of the Ministry of Higher Education,
Scientific Research and Technology, of August 15th, 1996,
fixing the criterias on the basis of which the equivalence is
delivered to the diplomas and titles, as
modified and completed by the order of March 28, 2002.
